Los Ángeles, CA (26 de octubre de 2023) – Álvaro Díaz lanza el nuevo y energético sencillo “Fatal Fantassy” junto a su colaborador de mucho tiempo y celebrado productor ganador del Grammy, Tainy, a través de Universal Music Latino. Reconocidos por su innovadora fusión de géneros en la música latina, el dúo demuestra su innegable talento en su última obra, demostrando una vez más que juntos crean nada menos que éxitos, como se vio a principios de este año en el destacado tema “Paranormal” del aclamado álbum DATA de Tainy.

“El nombre ‘Fatal Fantassy’ proviene de los clásicos temas de reggaeton underground de Puerto Rico. Cuenta la historia de una ruptura y lo que sigue… festejar hasta que salga el sol y conocer a una chica que puede cumplir tus fantasías”, explica Díaz sobre la canción. “Fatal Fantassy” forma parte del esperado álbum de Díaz, Sayonara, que se lanzará a principios de 2024.

El video fue dirigido por Juanchi González y fue inspirado en una escena eliminada de una de las películas favoritas de Díaz, la cual fue una gran fuente de inspiración para Sayonara. El video es una especie de juego de sueños y fantasías en el que intenta acercarse a la mujer que desea, pero siempre se despierta del sueño. Más adelante en la trama, la vida le da a Díaz la oportunidad de finalmente alcanzarla.
 
Recientemente, Díaz recibió una nominación a los Premios Rolling Stone en Español bajo la categoría de Voz de la Audiencia y estará interpretando “Fatal Fantassy” en vivo esta noche en la ceremonia que tomará lugar en el Fillmore Theatre en Miami Beach, Florida. La edición inagural de los premios, así como la alfombra roja, se transmitirán en vivo a través de TNT y HBO Max Latinoamérica a las 7 pm EST.

Los Angeles, CA (October 26, 2023) – Álvaro Díaz releases new energetic single “Fatal Fantassy” with long-time collaborator and celebrated Grammy winning producer, Tainy, via Universal Music Latino. Respected for their innovative genre-bending take on Latin music, the pair showcase their undeniable talent on their latest offering, proving once again that together they create nothing short of bangers as seen earlier this year on the standout track “Paranormal,” from Tainy’s critically acclaimed album DATA.

“The name ‘Fatal Fantassy’ comes from classic underground reggaeton records from Puerto Rico. It tells the story of a breakup and what follows…partying until the sun comes up and meeting a girl who can fulfil your fantasy,” explains Díaz about the song. “Fatal Fantassy” is part of Díaz’s forthcoming and highly anticipated album, Sayonara, set to be released early 2024.

The visuals were directed by Juanchi González and inspired by a deleted scene from one of Díaz’s favorite films, which was a huge source of inspiration for Sayonara. The video is a game of dreams and fantasies of sorts where he tries to get close to the woman he desires but keeps waking up from the dream. Later in the storyline, life gives Díaz the opportunity to finally reach her.

Díaz recently received a nomination from the Rolling Stone en Español Awards under the category Voice of the Audience and is confirmed to perform “Fatal Fantassy” live tonight at the award show at the Fillmore Theatre in Miami Beach, FL. The inaugural edition of the award show, as well as the red carpet, will be broadcast live via TNT and HBO Max in Latin America at 7pm EST.
